Back to all Utah Trip

We left bright and early on June 14th, our 37th Anniversary!

We went up through Flagstaff and on past Lake Powell to Junction City, Utah and the Lutherwood Campground. :) Nice place, the name says it all........

Met up with the Wekells out on the highway the next morning, and it was on to Manti! We found our campground literally in the shadows of the Manti Mormon Temple. Beautiful building that sort of floated above the cute little town. We could see that building from everywhere we went....... amazing, since it was built in 1888. There was a little too much snow to make it easily across the Skyline drive. We found a tricky side road and saw some great scenery. The roads in this area aren't as well marked as others. We all agreed that Marysvale and the central Paiute Trail remains our favorite.

The Temple View Campground was great! Very nice spaces, friendly, and of course good friends. Just the Hixsons, Wekells, and Taylors made it. We also had little Wekell Granddaughter, Leann for a couple of days. It was great watching her discover the "princess" telephone at the local museum. Funny stuff, as we had to show her how to use a rotary dial. It was a great museum. One of the best we've seen.

Good thing Darcy pays attention to scheduling so that we left on the correct day!! Ooops!

We parted ways and the Wekells went North into Idaho and who knows where.....

On to Circleville for us and the Taylors.
