"For 50 years the iconic Diving Lady was a colorful beacon beckoning travelers along Federal highways 60, 70, and 80 to enjoy the comfort of a good room and refreshing dip in a modern pool after a long, hot day's drive.

After millions of nightly dives into cool, blue neon water, the Valley's last animated neon sign took a devastating tumble October 5, 2010, the result of a microburst that proved to be one of the most powerful storms of the new Millennium.

Working closely with the owners of the Starlite Motel, the Mesa Preservation Foundation led the $120,000 effort to repair, restore and replace the Diving Lady to her pole.

Now, after 2 years, 5 months and 28 days since she took her near fatal plunge, the Diving Lady is once again making her colorful nightly leaps."

And WE were there! Thanks David, Donna and Bruce for again being good sports and tagging along with me for the big relighting! Love that Diving Lady!
